Lighting is the One Singular Difference Between an Average Event and a Great One
Lighting is often overlooked by clients. It may not be the first thing that you think about when you plan your wedding.
However, event lighting is the one element that can bring life and dimension to your special event. Imagine American Idol, a Broadway play, or Disney show without the lighting effects…it would be plain and boring!
Lighting can create a mood and when it is done well, lighting can make everything – including your flowers, cake and guests – look better. We can transform any room from standard to simply breathtaking.
Why do I need uplighting?
The most beautiful venue, flowers, linens, food, centerpieces, design and décor all look the same without quality wedding uplighting. Most receptions are held in the evening and the rooms are typically dimly lit. Lighting can transform and enhance the worst and the best venues into something incredible and memorable for your guests! Uplighting during the first dance and dinner in amber tones can create an intimate and warm atmosphere. While brighter and richer tones make your dance floor look fun!
– If you truly care about the look of your reception room…
– If you want your guests to remember your wedding…
– If you want gorgeous wedding pictures…
How different is your uplighting?
Our LED units are set on the floor and pointed up along walls, columns, or arches allowing a custom color light to project upwards.
We carry up to 20 powerful, wireless units. To give you an idea how they compare with natural light, here are some facts:
- The outdoor light level is approximately 10,000 lux on a clear day.
- In the building, in the area closest to windows, the light level may be reduced to approximately 1,000 lux.
- In the middle area its may be as low as 25 – 50 lux. Additional lighting equipment is often necessary to compensate the low levels.
- For precision and detailed works, the light level may even approach 1500 – 2000 lux.
Our units are 2,464 lux at 2 m. Your venue will look stunning, no mistake!
How many units do I need?
Generally you need a light for every 10ft – 20ft of wall length depending on the overall look that you want to achieve. We typically suggest renting 16 – 20 units. A few extra units could be used for outside uplighting of your venue for your night shots.
Uplighting can come in any color for your event. Amber, blues, purples, teals, reds, yellows all look really nice for uplighting. Wedding lights can be done as whites or amber for your dinner time and change to brighter colors later in the evening. You can do a solid color throughout the room or multiple colors. We don’t suggest changing light too often, as it becomes distracting. Typically one change when the dance floor opens is perfect!
What are other benefits of uplighting?
Wedding uplighting is the strategic placement of LED uplights on the ground/floor so that they project light at particular objects or off of walls. It’s really the art of painting with light – creating a beautiful background of color at the event.
A popular choice for brides and grooms is to uplight the head table. Uplights draw attention to the head table by creating nice focal point for your guests and they also look great in photos. From an artistic standpoint, many photographers work with light to create their stunning images. Uplighting your venue outside can create a dramatic look for your Night Shots!
Don’t miss out on that!
Would you check the venue beforehand to make sure the uplighting is done to perfection?
Knowing the elements of the venue is very important to us. If the carpet is doo dark and dull, if the colors of the walls are unattractive, if there are pipe and drapes that you don’t necessarily like, uplighting can completely change the color of the venue and space.
We have worked and are familiar with multiple venues in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. However, if we come across the venue we are not familiar with, we do our best to visit and plan how to use uplighting in your venue so that you LOVE it from the moment you walk in for your first dance!
My venue offers uplighting, why should I go through you?
9 out of 10 times lighting purchased through a venue is more expensive than going through an outside vendor. If you venue is a hotel, everything gets an up-charge to cover for gratuity and taxes. You are better off going through an outside vendor.
How do I know what uplighting I need?
Look through some images of your venue, see what uplighting had been used in the past that you liked. You may want to start with an idea or concept and then narrow down what you would like to see. What fits your wedding style?
Vision is the one of most important senses to entertain during an event, lighting is the magical element that helps you define exactly what they see.
